HT/LT LINE MATERIALS AND SCSR
The overhead power lines are majorly of two types- High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT). At Subham enterprise, we primarily deal with two types of HT & LT materials.
- Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACRC) Cable: ACRC cables are mainly used in overhead power lines of sub-urban and rural areas. The cables consist of an outer strand or layer of superior quality Aluminium which facilitates good conduction of electric current. To balance the weight of the conductor, the core or the central strand of the cables are backed by steel. The steel strand also provide additional mechanical strength and support to the cable. ACRC cables are long lasting, corrosion free, cost effective solutions, which are resistant to adverse weather condition and calamities. Hence it is preferred by many, and applied widely.
- Insulators: Insulators are installed on overhead power lines, so as to restrict unwanted currents and faulty loads. We usually deal with four type of insulators -
- Pin Insulator for electric distribution system extendable up to 33 kV voltage level.
- Suspension Insulator for voltages above 33 kV, where the pin insulators are found to be commercially unproductive.
- Strain Insulator installed at dead ends and corners of transmission line with high tension load.
- Shackle Insulator for low voltage transmission lines, usually less than 11 kV.
